Vishay Intertechnology Optocouplers and TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky Rectifiers Honored With EN-Genius Network Product of the Year Awards

MALVERN, Pa. — Feb. 15, 2012 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that its CNY64ST and CNY65ST Cat IV, high-voltage isolation optocouplers and dual-chip, 45 V TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers have won Product of the Year awards from EN-Genius Network (www.en-genius.net), a leading information source for electronic design engineers.

Recipients of the EN-Genius Network’s 2011 Product of the Year Awards were selected by Paul McGoldrick, EN-Genius editor in chief, and his editorial colleagues Lee Goldberg and Alex Mendelsohn, from products reviewed by the publication throughout the year.

Winner for Best Cat IV Optocouplers, Vishay’s CNY64ST and CNY65ST are the industry’s first such devices available in surface-mount packages. Optimized for solar and wind turbine installations, the devices protect equipment and people from being damaged or injured by a high-voltage spike or transient of up to 12,000 V and a recurring peak voltage of 1450 V, while allowing data to pass from the high-voltage side to low-voltage monitoring equipment.

Recognized with the E-Genius award for Best Rectifier Solution for Solar Cell Protection, Vishay’s dual-chip, 45 V TMBS rectifiers feature a wide range of current ratings from 10 A to 60 A and extremely low forward voltage drops down to 0.33 V typical at 10 V. Optimized for use in solar cell junction boxes as bypass diodes, each device is offered in the TO-220AB, ITO-220AB, and TO-263AB packages and provides a maximum operating junction temperature of + 150 °C. The winning rectifiers include the V(B,F)T1045CBP, V(B,F)T2045CBP, V(B,F)T3045CBP, and V(B,F)T6045CBP.
